Here's some ideas
on how YOU can help us find our classmates:
Special
thanks to Kim Simpson, Paul Bodine, & Michael Reed from
the class of '73 for their help!
Our #1
PRIORITY is to find as many of our 700+ classmates
as possible, and invite them to join us at our reunion. We
have found that our class has spread out over the 50 states
and across the seven seas, and it is thrilling to locate each
and every one and find out what they’ve been up to!
It’s almost like
fast-forwarding the fun of the reunion itself. Re-connecting,
exchanging "remember when?" e-mails, using our
Campanile to put names with faces again, etc.
Want
to join us?
You can start by going to our
LOST BRUINS
page and making sure you are not listed there. If
you or anyone you have contact info for is listed it means we
don't know how to reach you. You'll want to proceed to our
Contact Us
page to update our info.
Please contact
us if you would like to help search for our
classmates. In the past, all we had to help us find
people were phone books, PacBell "Information" and
information on other alums provided by people we’d already
found. (This is still our greatest resource…if one person
knows the whereabouts of three people, and two of those people
know how to reach two more people, that’s eight classmates
found!) We also sent mailings to last known addresses (10+
years old), a step that we’re going to take this time again,
very soon.
Internet
search techniques
Now the Internet affords
everyone the opportunity of searching far and wide from the
comfort of home or office with the expense of just a few
keystrokes! Check out our Search
Techniques page, and let us know if you have any other
tips or cool search engines we could all use.
Check out our Class
Directory page to see who we’ve already located and
who we’re missing. You might even feel compelled to search
for a block of names by choosing a letter of the alphabet to
work on. Or think back to a group you were involved with in
school (choir, theatre, water polo team, etc.), and try to
locate all of those members.
If you don’t have the time to
search for a large number of people, how about thinking back
to school days and identifying a few who you would love to see
or be in contact with again, and look for them? If you can
find one or two long-lost friends, it will enrich your life.
(We committee members and supporters can vouch for that!) Once
you’ve found them, just drop us a note at using our "contact
us" page filling in names, e-mail or street
addresses, and phone numbers if you have them. All information
is kept confidential.
Please
join us in our quest to reach all members of the Class of
’83--and let them know they are remembered!
